Here's Who Owns the National Debt

I've seen many recent headlines about the debt passing the $8 trillion mark (...and, unsurprisingly, zero headlines about GDP passing the $12 trillion mark).  Also, there's a lot of buzz about all of our debt that's currently owned by foreigners.  Is all of that supposed to scare me?  I guess so, judging from the tone of those gloomy articles. 

But I thought it might be advisable to check the facts before rushing out to convert all my assets into gold coins, firearms, and survival gear.
